Though Brave Like Me was founded in Ohio, we’ve always aspired to bring joy and courage to kids and families nationwide. We recently hit the road with the Brave Pets trailer and made three southeastern stops in Savannah, GA, and Orlando and Jacksonville, FL.
In Savannah, Georgia, the Brave Pets trailer rolled up to Memorial Health Dwaine and Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital for a special open house. Hospital staff stepped inside for a tour, laughed with us over stories of their own pets’ antics, and even pulled out their phones to share family pet photos with our founder, John Otten.

We couldn’t leave town without a book donation stop at Ronald McDonald House Savannah. While there, we met Willow, who served as an excellent model for one of our donations - I Love You More Than The Moon and All The Stars.

At our next stop in Orlando, we engaged with passionate child life professionals at the Florida Association of Child Life Professionals (FACLP) annual conference, The Magical World of Child Life. We enjoyed giving countless tours of the Brave Pets Family Reunion trailer and even got to enjoy the presence of some special four-legged guests.

Our road trip wrapped up in Jacksonville, where we delivered more book donations to the local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House and had the joy of meeting Manya and Lourdes.

From there, we made one last stop at Wolfson Children’s Hospital for an open house. Staff — along with a wet-nosed friend named Jude — stepped inside the Reunion Center, toured the space, and discovered more about how we can live without limits together.
